It's a sad day for us here at RockTome. After two years of successfully helping many artists make their music available to the world, we regret to announce that our free distribution service will be retiring on the 1st February 2018.
This decision has not been made lightly and is due to recent changes our primary distribution partner that are unfortunately incompatible with our business model. Whilst we have sought over the last few months to secure a viable alternative, we have been unable to find one that we feel would meet the needs of our userbase without compromising the service we strive to offer.
We would like to thank each and every artist that we have worked with on this service over the last two years and we sincerely hope that we helped you as best we could.
We are now currently considering other options to leverage RockTome in helping the independent music community which we hope to introduce next year.
We're aiming to continue to keep your releases available for as long as possible, but will now no longer be accepting new releases for publishing. It is expected that the existing releases on our service will be taken down progressively over the course of next year as our agreements for them expire, so you may wish to issue takedowns for them yourself which you can do either through your dashboard or by e-mailing us at rocktome@rocktome.com.
Royalty collections will continue on your behalf over the course of 2018 and will continue to be credited to your account as normal, and we will be operating a final payout mechanism as the last of them are processed.
